01  The through line is creative exploration

One canvas.
Three ways in.

Most tools pick one: make a thing, or keep you mindful, or entertain you. This is the same canvas answering to all three, because the impulse underneath them is the same one.

Design

For social posts there's a million and one ways to use it. Easily break templates and make it yours. Your own images and palettes dropped straight in, and export at social sizes the moment it looks right: stills, video, GIF, SVG. Undo on every command, so nothing you try costs you anything.

Wellness

Take the moment in Break mode. Generative ambient music that follows the time of day, and a breathing feature that turns the canvas into a guided breathing exercise. You watch it rise and fall and your breathing follows it. Customise and save settings locally.

Play

Create your own audio-visual display room and invite someone in. Choose an avatar that dances in sync with music you play. Load an MP3, or SoundCloud or Spotify in your tab, and the canvas plays along: bars take the spectrum, cuts land on the beat.

They hear what you hear
Your microphone, a browser tab, or a track you loaded, relayed live to them. Put a mic next to a speaker, or capture the tab your music is playing in, and they are listening to it with you.
They watch your canvas
Every control you touch lands on their screen at the same moment. Cursors show, so you can point at the thing you mean. They are watching the piece move, not a recording of it.
You can play DJ
Load an MP3 and it goes to them too, in sync, playing from their own copy so it never stutters down the wire. Your set, their speakers, one canvas reacting to it in front of both of you.

Sessions are private, up to five people in a room, and the audio never touches a server.

How is this different from Endless Tools or Ditther?

Both are excellent, both are subscriptions, and both are aimed at getting you a good-looking result quickly. This is aimed at the opposite instinct: 300 controls, all of them live, so you can push a template somewhere it was never meant to go. It also goes far deeper on sound, with six named instrument bands, a beat tracker that cuts on the beat, and generative ambient music. If you want a polished result in one click, buy theirs. If you want to make something nobody else could have made, this is cheaper and it is yours forever.

Do I need an account?

No. The studio opens instantly and works fully without one. An account only exists to attach your Forever licence and, later, to sync presets between machines.

What exactly does free include?

Everything. Every template, every effect, audio reactivity, presets, exports at 720p and 1080p in video, GIF, PNG and SVG. Forever adds 4K and 8K, 60fps, and everything that ships in the future.

Will this still be developed in a year?

The shipping log below is generated from real releases; the studio has shipped every week since it existed. Pay-once only works if the tool keeps earning it, and the log is the receipt.

How does sharing work? Do they need an account?

You send a link and they open it. No account, no install, nothing to download. Up to five people in a room, each with voice and view, and the session lives only while the tab is open. They see your canvas as you change it and hear whatever you are feeding it, whether that is your microphone, a browser tab or an MP3 you loaded.

What happens to my audio and webcam?

They never leave your browser. The renderer runs locally; microphone and camera feed the canvas and nothing else. There is no upload.

Which browser should I use?

Chrome, or anything built on it: Edge, Arc, Brave, Opera. That is where the studio is developed and tested, and where every feature is available.

Firefox and Safari run it perfectly well. The canvas, the templates, all 300 controls, exports, presets and shared sessions all work. Three things are narrower, and all three are browser capabilities rather than choices we made:

  • Playing along to Spotify, YouTube or a DAW. Chrome can hand a browser tab's audio straight to the canvas. Firefox and Safari cannot share tab audio at all, so on those you route sound through a virtual audio device, something like BlackHole on macOS, and pick it as the microphone. Your own microphone and MP3s you load work everywhere with no setup.
  • Your own installed fonts. The typeface picker can read the fonts on your machine in Chrome and Edge. Elsewhere it offers the Google Fonts list instead, which is the same picker and works everywhere.
  • Video exports. Chrome writes MP4. Firefox writes WebM, which every editor and social platform accepts, but you may want to convert it if you are handing the file to someone else.

If sound is the reason you are here, use a Chrome-based browser. For everything else, pick whichever you already have open.
